We serve lunch to those in need every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm.
The Peter Maurin Center is an inner-city Drop-In site for disenfranchised folks, living in the very impoverished neighborhood of the Greater Summit Lake Region of Akron, OH. The Peter Maurin Center has been serving Hot Meals since 2006. Several area Parishes were instrumental in the launching of PMC and over the years have continually provided an enormous amount of support for this ministry. The PMC Ministry has been a two-way street. We have been successful in enriching the journeys of many men, women and children that have come through the doors of The Center. We have served tens of thousands of meals over the time we have been open... probably approaching 200,000 meals, run solely on private donations from an all-volunteer organization! On the other hand, The Center has provided many opportunities for our parishioners, and others, to “Preach their faith” as Saint Francis has said, “… without using words.”
From the smallest crumb to a pair of socks, and even a friendly face of hope, The Peter Maurin Center invites anyone who loves community to join us in doing good deeds for those in need. Every single person and effort means the world.
